Dovonex® (calcipotriene cream) Cream, 0.005%, is indicated for the treatment of plaque psoriasis.
The safety and effectiveness of topical calcipotriene in dermatoses other than psoriasis have not been established.

-- A common genetically determined, chronic, inflammatory skin disease characterized by rounded erythematous, dry, scaling patches. The lesions have a predilection for nails, scalp, genitalia, extensor surfaces, and the lumbosacral region. Accelerated epidermopoiesis is considered to be the fundamental pathologic feature in psoriasis.
Dovonex® Cream is contraindicated in those patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components of the preparation.
It should not be used by patients with demonstrated hypercalcemia or evidence of vitamin D toxicity.
Dovonex® Cream should not be used on the face.
-- Altered reactivity to an antigen, which can result in pathologic reactions upon subsequent exposure to that particular antigen.
-- Abnormally high level of calcium in the blood.
