Indications and Usage
For the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting or dizziness associated with motion sickness.
Nausea -- An unpleasant sensation in the stomach usually accompanied by the urge to vomit. Common causes are early pregnancy, sea and motion sickness, emotional stress, intense pain, food poisoning, and various enteroviruses.

Vomiting -- The forcible expulsion of the contents of the STOMACH through the MOUTH.

Dizziness -- An imprecise term which may refer to a sense of spatial disorientation, motion of the environment, or lightheadedness.

Motion Sickness -- Disorder caused by motion, as sea sickness, train sickness, car sickness, air sickness, or SPACE MOTION SICKNESS. It may include nausea, vomiting and dizziness.

Contraindications
Meclizine HCl is contraindicated in individuals who have shown a previous hypersensitivity to it.
Hypersensitivity -- Altered reactivity to an antigen, which can result in pathologic reactions upon subsequent exposure to that particular antigen.

Warnings

Since drowsiness may, on occasion, occur with use of this drug, patients should be warned of this possibility and cautioned against driving a car or operating dangerous machinery.Patients should avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this drug.

Due to its potential anticholinergic action, this drug should be used with caution in patients with asthma, glaucoma, or enlargement of the prostate gland.Do not give to children under 12 years of age unless directed by a doctor.
